Understanding the shipping requirements by country is crucial in answering the questions; can you ship any commodity and where can the commodity be shipped? Reviewing the requirements of the country before you ship your commodity is a good practice before tendering to Purolator International for service. Ensure Accurate Commodity Descriptions
When completing customs documents it is important to list separately each commodity, including what the commodity is made of and how the commodity will be used. Be specific and consistent in your content descriptions on the Purolator International Waybill, Commercial Invoice and other Customs Documentation.
Ensure Declared Value is provided on all Customs Documentation
Duties and taxes are determined by the Declared Value, along with your description of the commodity. Ensure the Declared Value you enter for customs reflects an accurate value.
Ensure Contact Information for both Sender and Consignee is Accurate and Legible
Telephone or fax numbers should always be included.
Print the Commodity's Country of Origin
Ensure the commodity's country of origin is legibly printed on waybills and customs documentation.
Select the appropriate Packaging for your Shipment
Review Purolator's packaging options and weight specifications and ensure you do not exceed size and weight specifications. If you believe your shipment is overzised contact Purolator at 1888 SHIP 123 and we'll arrange for different mode of transportation that is cost-effective.
